Technical information

Active ingredients:  Group 14 (pyraflufen-ethyl), Group 4 (dichlorprop-p), Group 4 (2,4-D ester)
Rainfast:  Avoid application if heavy rainfall is imminent
Treatment area:  250 mL/acre, one case treats 80 acres, one drum treats 480 acres, one tote treats 1,920 acres (contact local retailer to special order drums and/or totes)
Tank-mix order:  BlackHawk EVO, glyphosate
Notes: Fall applications can be made until freeze up with no cropping restrictions the following season. In the spring, applications can be made after seeding cereals prior to emergence except for oats (apply a minimum of 7 days prior to seeding). Benefits

  • POWERED BY Duplosan technology for control of tough-to-kill broadleaf weeds
including herbicide resistant kochia and cleavers
  • PROVEN RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT with multiple modes of action that target
    broadleaf weeds
  • COMPLETE CONTROL through systemic and contact activity
  • Makes in-crop weed control easier and more effective by having only new, small
weeds present at time of application
  • Provides broad-spectrum weed control, including excellent control of narrow-leaved
hawk’s-beard in the fall and spring
  • No surfactant needed when applied with glyphosate

Weed control challenge

Glyphosate alone used to provide an effective burndown option in cereal crops. But the widespread adoption of glyphosate-tolerant canola, and the alarming spread of glyphosate, Group-4 and Group 2-resistant kochia has dramatically reduced the effectiveness of glyphosate-only control programs.

Nufarm solution

BlackHawk EVO contains Duplosan technology along with Group 14 herbicide (pyraflufen-ethyl) in a pre-formulation with 2,4-D ester. It delivers faster, more complete weed control in a cereal pre‑seed burndown than glyphosate and Group 2 herbicides. With three active ingredients and multiple modes of action, BlackHawk EVO is an innovative burndown solution that doubles as an effective tool for resistance management.
