Nufarm Canada West | CONQUER II | Herbicide | Crop Protection

CONQUER® II pre-seed herbicide adds more power to your glyphosate for burndown ahead of seeding canola.

Technical information

Active ingredients:  Group 14 (pyraflufen-ethyl), Group 6 (bromoxynil)
Rainfast:  2 hours (Nufarm supported)
Treatment area:  121 mL/acre, one case treats 160 acres, one drum treats 640 acres (contact local retailer to special order drums)
Tank-mix order:  CONQUER II, glyphosate
Notes:

  • Canola can be seeded immediately after an application of CONQUER II
  • CONQUER II can be applied up to 3 days after seeding
  • For best results, spray in the heat of the day when the weeds are actively growing and less than 5 cm tall or across
  • Use a minimum of 10 gal./acre water volume for adequate coverage of target weeds
  • Droplet size should be fine to medium using a combination of nozzle type and sprayer speed, adjust sprayer speed to optimize spray coverage

Registered crops

Can be applied pre- or post-seeding before the emergence of these crops:

  • Canola
  • Barley
  • Canary seed
  • Corn
  • Fall rye
  • Oats
  • Summerfallow
  • Triticale
  • Wheat (spring, durum, winter)

Weeds controlled with a glyphosate tank-mix

  • Annual sow-thistle (suppression)
  • Chickweed
  • Cleavers (including Group 2- and glyphosate-resistant biotypes)
  • Cow cockle (suppression)
  • Dandelion (spring germinated)
  • Flixweed
  • Kochia (including Group 2-, 4-, and glyphosate-resistant biotypes)
  • Lamb’s quarters (including Group 2-, 5-, and glyphosate-resistant biotypes)
  • Narrow-leaved hawk’s beard (suppression)
  • Night-flowering catchfly
  • Pineapple weed (suppression)
  • Redroot pigweed (including Group 2- and 5-resistant biotypes)
  • Shepherd’s-purse
  • Stinkweed
  • Volunteer canola (all herbicide-tolerant biotypes)*
  • Wild buckwheat
  • Wild mustard

Benefits

  • VOLUNTEER CANOLA CONTROL
  • EXCELLENT WEED CONTROL including all Group 2-, Group 4- and glyphosate-resistant biotypes of volunteer canola, kochia and cleavers
  • NON-RESIDUAL ACTIVITY eliminates any risk to the emerging canola crop
  • NEW CONVENIENT all-in-one formulation will make load times quicker at spraying time
  • Protects long-term viability of agronomic tools such as glyphosate and glyphosate-tolerant traits
  • No surfactant required when used with glyphosate

Performance tips

For best results, spray CONQUER II in the heat of the day when the weeds are actively growing and less than 5 cm tall or across.

  • Droplet size – fine to medium using a combination of nozzle type and sprayer speed, adjust sprayer speed to optimize spray coverage
  • Water volume – use a minimum of 10 gal./ac water volume for adequate coverage of target weeds

Weed control challenge

The growing range of weed control challenges in canola

Glyphosate has been used for years for effective burndown. But with the widespread adoption of glyphosate-tolerant crops like canola and the spread of Group 2-. 4, and glyphosate-resistant weeds like kochia and cleavers, growers are now faced with more weed control challenges than ever. Products with a single active ingredient have too narrow a spectrum to control the growing range of weed populations.

Nufarm solution

Complete weed control that’s safe on canola

CONQUER II delivers faster, more complete weed control as a pre-seed burndown ahead of canola compared to glyphosate alone. With two active ingredients and two separate modes of action, and when tank-mixed with glyphosate, weeds face a triple action threat. This all-in-one formulation controls hard-to-kill weeds including kochia, cleavers, and volunteer canola.
